If you are of vacations or away from your computer for a few of hours you need to give fast support or you can lost money or clients, for this reason you need to be notificated of important events. Facil HelpDesk (from version 2.3) have provision to send an SMS message to the mobile phone of support operators, notifying them when a support request has been received or when end users have updated their own call tickets.
Each department has the option on their helpdesk home page to opt in and out of the service at any time (administrator).
In order to provide this service worldwide across the internet, we use clickatell as our SMS gateway.
Steps for getting SMS notifications from Facil HelpDesk
1.- Sign up ad get 10 free SMS!
2.- After of creating your account at clickatell, go Settings of Facil HelpDesk => SMS notifications and fill:
username: Insert your username
password: XXXX
3.- Finally go to Departments, notifications and fill N° for incoming SMS notif. for every department example:
5154958403561 (country code+regional number + local number),
Ask to your cellular operator about it.
That's all, now when your helpdesk receives an ticket, you will get an SMS: example:
Helpdesk=>Ryan Obama: I need urgent help your server crashes every 10 minutes and...
