What is Snoop component suite 2.0?
Snoop component suite 2.0 is the component library for sniffing network packets (Only Ethernet 802.x) running on WinPcap 3.x, first you should install the last version of WinPcap, the author is Lee Kyung Moon, his site is unavailable from year 2005. Perhaps he doesn't have time for reading emails, i don't know if he is still alive but there is no other site to get this library only here for the moment. WinSession Logger used Snoop component to capture MSN messages.
if you are a Delphi programmer and you want to capture Ethernet messages, using his library you will save a lot of time, you won't need to create headers and components for WinPcap.
What does it support Snoop Analizer? OS: Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, NT, XP, 2003 Compiler : Borland Delphi, Borland C++Builder. Snoop component runs on WinPcap 3.0 or highter. WinPcap is a network packet capture driver on Windows OS.I don't know if WinPcap or the new name that is has supports Windows 7 or Windows Vista.I'am not using Snoop component with WinSession from version 3.x the component is great but it requires that you run the driver as administrator.
Installation in Delphi 6 not for .NET
Install WinPcap 3.0 or 3.1 or a new version if available in your computer use Google to find an available source for downloading. Double click “SnoopPck.dpk”. Click the “Install” button in Delphi. In the next links you can download the components with source, manual (a Power Point presentation) and a few of examples, it's recommend to start with console.dpr ; this site doesn't provide any support for this library.
First you should download WinPcap,check Google for the last version, or the version 3.1, and then install the package SnoopPck.dpk.
After of installing the package, unzip the examples and compile them, don't use "build all proyects". You should select the right adapter index not every time the adapter "0" is the active, sometimes you should change it to 1.
The adapter index is a number between 0 and 5, it represents an ethernet adapter compatible or NIC with 802.3. installed on your computer.
